Parents Reign Victorious Over Coaches
Just like to thank all the people who took part in the Coaches v's Parents game at Parmiters on Saturday 10th May.

The parents came out victorious once again with a late 2-1 win after the coaches had taken an early lead through Tony David.

The result is in doubt though and the coaches have put in a complaint to UEFA, as the parents played no more than 9 ringers on the day.

Goalscorers for the parents were Jack Haspineall (Ridgeway Rovers), Ricky Lock (Ryan FC 1st team) see what I mean.

Overall though great performance from both sets of players and MOM was Lee Smith (under 8's manager) for two world class saves. (pic to come)

........BRAD KENT........
I was told the sad news from Karen McCrystal, that Brad Kent passed away on Friday night.

It really saddens me as I write this, but feel I need to tell members old and new how much Brad did for this great club.

Brad came over to Ryan FC in 2004 to help run the youth section with myself.

After being the Youth secretary of Brimsdown Rovers for many seasons, Brad gave not only me but also the club all his experience.

It was Brad that got Ryan FC into the Rural Friendly and Cheshunt Leagues and also was the main founder along with Alec Holloway of the Ryan FC Summer Tournament.

Brad was well respected in the 'Football Circle' and this is what made me really proud to have someone like this by my side.

I will always remember Brad for the late telephone calls we would have on a Sunday night just as I was about to go to bed, it would be Brad wanting to talk about football and before I knew it the time would 12.30am.

Also the Ryan FC Summer Tournaments, Brad, myself and Alec would do so much work before the tournament to make it such a success. But on the day I knew it would go well as Brad would get all the managers in and make his speech, again I was proud to have this man on my team.

After so many years involved in football, this season Brad decided to call it a day running a team. The boys team he had run for years had played their last year as under 17's and even though I still had Brad on hand he just wanted a break for a while.

Brad was treated for cancer in October and thought the operation was a success, but there were some complications and also just sheer bad luck and Brad was hospitalised most of this year.

I will really miss Brad, not only as a friend but someone who I knew I could phone at any time if I needed advice or was in trouble. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

CHAMPIONS!!
The under 9's RED who play in the East London and Essex League Sundays have just won there top division.

Needing to win there last game for the title, Ryan FC beat Junior Hammers 2-0 goals from Benjamin Badu and Tyler Kirby.

Under the Guidence of 'Football Guru' Dave Sawyer and managed by Paul O'Conner the boys who have been with the club for over three years have come good.

Club Founder Richard Williams says, Im really proud of the boys, Most of the boys have come through the Soccer School and have been with us since they were four years of age.

Dave Sawyer who trains the boys and runs the Saturday team has worked wonders with the boys and I can see a very good eleven side here in the making.

Dog Night
Thanks to all the people who supported the club at Walthamstow Dogs on Tuesday 5th February 2008,
The competition which was run by Sporting Leagues, had Ryan FC competing with five other football clubs for the GSL Trophy.

Ryan were given Trap 2 for the six races and after leading for most of the way got pipped at the post by Roundshaw District Colts running from Trap 3.

It wasn,t all bad news though, Trap 2 won the 4th race which was called the Ryan FC Stakes and then our own Henry Williams won a few pounds on the last, so it was chicken and chips on him.

Thank You!!
We wish to thank all the people and managers who attended the Christmas Partys and made them a huge success for Ryan Football Club
